Nature's Paparazzi

My friend Becky once accused me of being a "Turkey Paparazzi". You see I love to photograph nature. All creatures great and small and any fungus among us. I have been known to stalk turkey for days on end. I even had an alarm that went of each day at the best time of day to catch said turkeys on their daily strut.
I had been so busy with people photography lately that I had forgotten just how peaceful and amazing the stalking of nature could be. Saturday I spent an hour just photographing dragonflies. Then Sunday as I was hanging with my hubby my Uncle called to tell me there was a mother deer and her still spotted babies nearby, so I paused the DVR and grabbed my camera.
It felt really good to get back to Nature and it has renewed me. Sometimes I need to stalk Mother Nature, she inspires me to see people in a whole new and natural way.

Welcome

A sweet friend suggested that I start this blog to share my photographic journey. I have loved photography for years but I was never great at it, just average at best. That all changed when I bought my husband an amazing "little" camera for Christmas one year. This is what most refer to as a point and shoot but it was the beginning of a journey for me. The photo is from the first trip we took with that little gem.

This camera had a wonderful little screen that would let me see my vision! I could zoom in and out and all of the sudden what my mind saw was now what I got! This was the beginning of an obsession that would lead me down a wonderful path. It took some time but I finally learned how to get that same thing to happen with a "big" camera and after that I was off and running.

I am writing this lovely memory on the cusp of another "beginning", my first wedding. I am so excited and nervous. I just want to make sure that my what my mind sees tomorrow is what I capture for the Bride and Groom and all those who will see these.

So thank you to all who read this and thank you Susan for the push that I needed!
